Countryside &  Rural Sector

I draw on lived experience of rural life, not just an understanding of it. I combine that authentic perspective with my heritage sector expertise to create displays and experiences that help people learn about our countryside.

Engagement & Learning

Tours, Activities, Spotter Sheets, Activity Booklets

I can help you develop meaningful, safe experiences on your farm or estate for all ages. Whether it's for an Open Farm Sunday-type event or a new offer you're planning, I can help.

Thinking about an offer for schools? Whether you want to talk about food production or shooting and conservation, I can help. Part of my portfolio of roles includes freelance Farm Visit Co-ordinator for The Country Trust and freelance Learning & Engagement Co-ordinator for the NGO Educational Trust.

Kind Words Ruth brought energy, vision and commitment to the project and provided varied and exciting opportunities and activities for the young people involved. Read more feedback here.

Measuring Impact: Evaluation

From farms offering Open Farm Sunday events to organisations reporting to the National Lottery Heritage Fund, I’ve helped clients measure their success, understand their impact, and demonstrate their value.

Training: Starting to Evaluate I can support clients starting to look at how to evaluate experiences.

Kind Words: I've never had any training towards evaluation, so this was a fantastic first step into it as it was comprehensive, clear and engaging. Participant on training at God's House Tower, Southampton. Read more feedback here.

Displays

If you're looking to tell your farm or estate's story, I can help. My museum interpretation background transfers perfectly to agritourism, bridging the gap between complex farming or land mangement operations and the general public, turning a standard walk or trip to a farm shop into an engaging experience.

Kind Words Often when writing enthusiastically and historically about an object or story, the visitor gets forgotten, but Ruth was able to refine and reposition our content to bring it back into focus and in a way that suited our audience. Her clarity and (gentle) red pen made all the difference – accessible, considered text in readable lengths, minus the waffle.  Read more feedback here.

Field-to-Screen

I can help help you develop an authentic voice for your social media, engaging and educating your followers.

I manage social media for the Gamekeepers' Welfare Trust and the NGO Educational Trust.
