Talks for Groups
daytime & evening
Broadly speaking, the short words are the best, and the old words best of all.
Winston Churchill
Getting a Grip on Memory
An interactive talk about the power of touch in our lives, and how our senses help bring memories to the fore. We tend to think about reminiscing as something older people do, but in fact we do it throughout our lives, at all ages. When we add the chance to touch something that inspires a memory into the mix, reminiscing can be a very powerful and positive experience. This talk will include a range of artefacts to explore, from Box Brownies to Bakelite light switches, and the chance to reminisce.
A Wander Without Wellies

Using a presentation of images and sounds, I’ll take you for a verbal walk along some old routes, exploring their heritage and some of the flora and fauna living in our countryside. Can include nature table display of skulls, feathers, taxidermy.
Up at the Big House
A talk about Glen House, its history and my recollections of working there.
I grew up on The Glen Estate. Working on the housekeeping team at Glen House, the Scottish home of Lord & Lady Glenconner and depicted in TV’s The Crown, was my first job.
