ReCollect

Artefact-inspired reminiscence

ReCollect is about using older, everyday items to help put people in touch with their past and inspire conversation.

I can deliver reminiscence using my collection in a range of care, community and heritage settings. If you are a museum or heritage site, I can also deliver with your collection.

Positive reminiscing is important for our well-being. It helps put us in touch with times in our lives when we were valued, fulfilled and happy.

Sharing good memories gives more meaning to this experience, increasing that well-being, so reminiscing with someone else or a group can be really beneficial.

Items from our past can be great memory-joggers. And touch is an important sense. Those things combined - holding an item we remember from a period of contentment in the past - can

create a powerful, positive experience.

Kind Words The topic related to the client group, All artefacts stimulated positive conversations + fun. Read more feedback about my work here.

ReStore
For organisations outside the heritage sector

ReStore is for schools, charities and businesses looking to organise their archive and/or collection.

I can help you get to grips with what you have and how you can put it to work by helping to tell your story.

Your archive is the foundation of your organisation's identity. It's a tangible, collective memory for the people connected to you - the alumni, beneficiaries or clients whose stories are linked to your own.

I can assist by working with your team, or by helping you engage other stakeholders in the process like pupils, alumni or volunteers connected to your organisation.

From Foraging to Farming

Help young learners understand the deeper connection our distant ancestors had with our landscapes and their resources. Hands-on activities exploring food in the past, raw materials available and more.

Creature Features

Skulls, taxidermy and skins all feature in these activities as young learners think about where our wildlife lives and what it eats.

Mystery Objects

The chance to get up-close and personal with everyday objects from the past. Exporing mystery objects is a great way to help children develop a range of skills as they observe, compare, use clues and hypothesise.

Kind Words We loved it – our children loved it and so did the parent helpers. Read more feedback from teachers here.
